When I first started I had no idea what I was doing and created an Alliance character but the server I selected is like 80% horde. Well if blizz would listen to their player base for the last 10 years they would of setup some ME servers but nahhh lolFirst, an overview of the WoW (US) network infrastructure. All US servers are hosted in 3 data centers, located in Chicago, Los Angeles and Sydney. OCE realms are hosted in Sydney and all Latin American / Brazilian realms in Chicago. A lot of the oceanic severs are linked like that so most options would be good! Nagrand is pre good, its also linked with Caelestrasz so the split pre much becomes 50/50 give or take 10-15%. Like take Moon Guard, one of the largest Alliance RP realms however almost a good portion of the population is stuck in Goldshire not really contributing to the realm. Stormrage and Sargeras are both very active Alliance realms. I moved to Proudmoore for this expansion and am loving it. It's packed and there's always people around. Not sure what the split is though. It's almost entirely Alliance. Area-52 is the biggest Horde server. It’s fine. Def a lot of people around. It’s more of a self-contained place as opposed to other servers that have a ton of connected realms and CRZ in open world. Chromiecraft is 3.3.5 but currently limited to level 64. The Atlantiss team is planning on launching a fresh TBC server under Stormforge, unofficially announced Q1 2023. There's usually guilds and communities dedicated to it, and people use addons such as TRP to write profiles and so on to supplement the experience. On EU the only "real" RP server left is Argent Dawn, the rest are either dead or are RP realms only in name. It's majority Alliance but plenty of Horde stuff too. Grobbulus is a very good server. There’s an entire phase of catch up raid coming in a few months. If you start now, you can get to max level and make some gold of do some P1 and P2 content until P4 hits. Dalaran wow has outdated inferior scripts and low pop, while Cromiecraft is still in its lvling phase (they release 10 by 10 lvls every few months or so) with sub 1k pop at best and by now is considered a meme in the community. I ran some queries on all NA servers today for population estimates as found using a check of those in the LFG chat channel. This is obviously not perfect but is a much closer estimate than Ironforge.Pro or CensusPlusWOTLK. A lot of the oceanic severs are linked like that so most options would be good! Nagrand is pre good, its also linked with Caelestrasz so the split pre much becomes 50/50 give or take 10-15%. Probably the best you're gonna do for OCE, otherwise Alliance 90% on Frostmourne, Horde 90% on Barthilas, roughly. It's the best scripted realm ever, population is nice with toxicity close to 0 (server rules are enforced in world chat as well), faction balance is around 50:50 but it's not highly populated... in fact, it's medium/low (compared to the Vanilla standard of 2500 online cap, or 1250 online per faction).
